My name is Emily Burkhead, who’s just your run-of-the-mill cat lady with an unhealthy obsession with coffee. I’m 24 years old and, like most people my age, I’m struggling with where I want to be in life and how I can possibly achieve my dreams. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2016 with a degree in Journalism and since then I’ve gotten married, traveled to Scotland and flitted around in life wondering where to go from here.
Currently, I’m a 911 dispatcher as well as a freelance writer for Bolde.com and Harness Magazine. In the past, I’ve worked as the blogger for Plato’s Closet in Jackson, TN and a contributing writer for Sidelines at MTSU. I’ve covered fashion, health, relationships, and events in Nashville, TN.
I’ve always had a passion for writing, particularly involving fiction. I devoured books as fast as my Dad could make a return trip with me to Barnes & Noble or Books-A-Million. I sat in my room for hours on end, creating fan-fiction on Quizilla, praying that no one in my High School caught on and leaked the online pages to my peers. I dreamed of being an author for most of my life and while that dream is still very much alive, now all I want to do is write for a living.
Thus, I decided to create this blog called Life’s Little Musings. Here I’ll be talking about everything involving lifestyle, such as my personal flavor of fashion, yoga, travel destinations and some musings sprinkled in between. Let’s see where life takes us.
