Here at Middle Tennessee State University, the work has already piled up thanks to several snow days. While the extra days off were much enjoyed, catching up on the syllabus has made the beginning of the semester a bit of a nightmare. Even though the snow is gone, the temperature is low enough to make any student question whether or not they should leave their bed. This makes it tempting to throw something on and call it day. You’re going to need a coat to make that walk to class and it will be covering your outfit anyway, right? So, what’s the point?
Those sweats might be calling your name, but the start of the school year is a great way to show your new classmates how stylish you really are. Fight back the cold with a great statement jacket. A jacket can easily transform any outfit and there are many different types to choose from.
This Fashionista paired a Forever 21 faux fur jacket with a pair of dark red jeans, a gray shirt and red Dr. Martens. Faux fur jackets have been a favorite this season and can give any look a classy and vintage vibe. The fur jacket has shown up in runway shows such as Bourchra Jarrar’s Spring 2016 and Ioana Ciolacu’s Berlin Fall 2016 collection.
Fur adds beautiful texture to an outfit and can take your look from simple to chic. The pop of white from this Fashionista’s jacket stands out from the dark tones, and makes even more of a statement.
How To: To pull off wearing a fur jacket without making it look to gaudy and out there, pair it with solid colors instead of prints. Make a vampy and edgy look by pairing it with dark colors, like this Fashionista did. To keep the vampy look going, take inspiration from this Fashionista, by pairing it with accessories such as a hat, choker and simple yet elegant stone rings.
